Nearly 1100 dog tags
That's what is currently archived in the Camp Butner Society museum.
How can we have that many?
That is the most common question we hear. While some were probably lost in training or misplaced, when soldiers received new tetanus shots, they received tags with new dates and the old ones were usually disposed of. That is probably the case with most of these.
